Printers Ball: You've come a long way, baby!

Pretty much without warning, the Printers Ball has rolled around again; it's this Friday evening. Can't believe it's been four years since getting nearly trampled to death for free 'zines at Hothouse!

Considering how last year's ball turned out, with the police busts and all, I'm not terribly surprised that the organizers opted to use all that Poetry Foundation cash for a swankier host, the Museum of Contemporary Art. I think it's a great location - I remember how much fun Intonation was a couple of years ago - I actually came out of that event with a friend!

I think MCA is a wonderful venue for events of an indie nature, and because of the location there's likely to be some spill over from curious folks on their way home from work, so goodie for them and for the indie publishers distributing their wares. On the downside, the alternative/freak vibe of previous years may be gone.

I'll be there ... on some level. I've got The Faint/GT to cover at the Vic that night, I am trying to figure out how to attend both events without shortchanging myself.
